Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
What is Crafty Tomato?
Crafty Tomato is a DIY craft studio where anyone can drop in, choose a project, and make something fun. No prep, no cleanup—just the fun part!
Do I need prior art experience?
Nope! Everything is beginner-friendly, and all levels are welcome. Whether it’s your first time picking up a paintbrush or you’re a seasoned crafter, you’ll feel right at home.
Do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome if space allows, but we recommend booking in advance to guarantee your seat. When you reserve, there’s a $10 reservation fee — this simply acts as a deposit and will be applied toward your total order at checkout. For workshops, you’ll need to purchase your seat ahead of time since space is limited.
DIY Sessions
How do DIY sessions work?
Book a time, come in, pick your project, and we’ll set you up with everything you need.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions are 1.5–2 hours, but you can stay longer if you need.
Is there a studio fee?
Nope — there’s no studio fee at Crafty Tomato. You only pay for the craft project you choose, and everything you need (supplies, tools, and space) is included in that price.
What kinds of projects can I do?
Crafty Tomato is always updating our roster to bring you the most fun projects — some familiar favorites and some you’ve never seen before.
Our evergreen options include:
- Paint your own plaster sculpture
- Re-create famous paintings in 3D
- Classic canvas painting
- Crafty Tomato specialty clay sculpting
- DIY bracelets and keychains
We’ll also roll out seasonal crafts (perfect for holidays and trends) — stay tuned on Instagram for the latest drops.
Plus, keep an eye out for specialty workshops like bookbinding, Kava & Paint Night, guided clay sessions, and forever-bouquet making.
Workshops
What’s the difference between a workshop and a DIY session?
Workshops are scheduled, guided events with a teacher. DIY sessions are self-paced.
How do I book a workshop?
Through our Workshops page — limited spots, first come first serve.
Can I book a private group workshop?
Yes — for birthdays, corporate events, etc. Contact us!
Studio Logistics
Can I bring food or drinks?
Outside food isn’t allowed, but you’re welcome to bring your own drinks. We especially recommend supporting our amazing neighbors right here in the plaza — Light House Kava Bar, Mango Rabbit Boba, and Shaghf Cafe. You’ll also find a wide variety of cold drinks and snacks available for purchase inside Crafty Tomato.
Is there an age limit?
Crafty Tomato is open to all ages!
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult, with one adult supervising up to two children under 13 for safety. An adult guardian will need to sign a safety waiver for any child under 13.
Do you provide aprons or protective gear?
Yes, but wear something comfy that you don’t mind getting messy!
Do you clean up?
Yes — you just do the fun part, we handle the mess.
